In these collages crafted entirely out of discarded newspapers, scissors embody a union of opposites and represent the dual nature of a tool used for both destruction and creation. I like how scissors have a very alive, somewhat figurative quality. They seem to have eyes and legs, or mouth, which they can open or close. They move, and they can look as though they are dancing.
